ABOUT K-OPTICS
Who We Are
K-Optics is the optics department of Kilim Plastics Ltd. Over the past six years we have been involved in producing injection molded optical parts used in industrial settings. Implementing our vast experience in the field of injection molded plastics combined with optics, led us to create an experiment kit for use in educational settings.
Our Goals
Our main goal is to engage high-school and college students in fascinating optical phenomena. By producing affordable kits, we aim to complement theoretical studies and simulations with hands-on experimental experience on each student’s table instead of a single classroom set; these sets are designed to resemble traditional industrial 3D optical setups
Field of Work
We develop and supply high quality, affordable educational optics kits, experiments, and products – made mostly of injection molded engineering-grade glass-filled polymers – for various ages and levels of difficulty. Students are guided through several basic optics experiments in each kit.
Kilim Plastics
Kilim Plastics is a small engineering family business founded in 1985 which specializes in conversion of metal parts to injection molded plastic parts. We are ISO certified and supply a cross-section of the high-tech, aerospace, and defense industries in Israel – such as IAI, Orbotech, Elbit, El-Op, etc. The world of optics is implementing injection molded optical components in a variety of industries, and Kilim Plastics spearheads this transition.
